| SomernitesCruise is the largest FREE monthly car event in Kentucky and held every Fourth Saturday, April thru October, rain or shine!! SomernitesCruise is a car event by car people, for car people! Highlights of each month's activities include a Block Party on Friday night, a Saturday Show & Shine on the blocked off streets of historic downtown Somerset, KY and lots of fun while "cruisin' the strip" on both nights! At Somernites, we encourage you to show & cruise your car or truck! ...and we promise you...Somernites is truly an event unlike any other! Cruise weekends offer lots of free, family oriented activities and events on both days so, many cruisers are now arriving on Friday in order to better enjoy all the fun! Click the "Cruise Events" button for a complete list of times and locations for all events including the Friday Night Wal-Mart Block Party and the Saturday Morning Fun Run just to name a few! The Show & Shine opens at 2:00PM on Saturday and offers block after block of your favorite classic showcars and trucks all parked side by side in an entirely original setting. We welcome Streetrods, Classics, Musclecars and highly modified late models. Great cruisin' music on our p.a. system broadcast thruout the downtown sets the perfect atmosphere for showin' off your ride! A huge "Vendor Alley" area offers performance and restoration parts as well as great food and cool drinks to make sure you never run on empty during the day! Free doorprizes for participants plus special displays too! The SomernitesCruise Show & Shine is a FREE non-judged event open to all Streetrods, Classics, Antiques and Musclecars (including modern Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Vettes, Vipers, etc.) and highly modified late models only. A constant police presence is maintained inside the show area's of Somernites Cruise to insure a safe and pleasant atmosphere at all times. The highlight of SomernitesCruise is the "cruisin' the strip" action! Literally thousands of spectators line the streetsides to watch the cruisers and cheer their favorite rides. It simply must be seen to be believed (click the Cruise Pics/Videos button for samples!). Don't be surprised to see and hear concerts happening up and down the strip as well! Unlike many towns, Somerset actually welcomes cruisers with open arms! We encourage you to cruise your car/truck all evening or bring lawnchairs and blankets to better watch all the fun!
