| Somernites Cruise celebrates our 10th Anniversary in 2010! Every 4th Saturday, April thru October from 1pm-7pm, rain or shine! Beautiful and historic Somerset, Kentucky is home to Somernites Cruise which is held on the fourth Saturday of each month April-October, rain or shine. Our entrance gates open at 1:00pm and the HUGE "Show & Shine" portion of the event concludes with the Parade Of Classic's. After that, 'cruisin' the strip' action continues on until the last car goes home. Cruise dates for 2010 April 23rd-24th May 21st-22nd June 25th-26th July 23rd-24th August 27th-28th September 24th-25th October 22nd-23rd Somernites is always FREE to participants and spectators while featuring an exciting, family-oriented atmosphere in an entirely original setting. On the blocked off streets of downtown Somerset, you will have the opportunity to show your ride, meet other enthusiasts and admire the awesome cars on display. We encourage you to bring a lawnchair and sit along the street to watch 1000+ showcars & trucks as they enter the 'Show & Shine' area. Somernites Show & Shine is a non-judged event open to all Streetrods, Classics, Antiques, Musclecars and higly modified Late Models. For guidelines on entering your car or truck in the Show & Shine, click here. We offer door prizes for participants as well as special events and games thruout the day. In our huge Vendor Alley area you will find performance and restoration parts as well as great food and cool drinks to ensure yo never run on empty during the day! Great cruisin' music broadcast thruout the downtown area provides the perfect atmosphere for showing off your ride! Specialty Area's at each month show focus on a specific make or model all parked together as a show-within-a-show. Should you want to do alittle shopping outside the downtown area, a FREE shuttle bus leaves every hour to take you to local shopping centers. Official Somernites Cruise apparel with the exciting 10th Anniversary graphics for 2010 is available for purchase at our merchandise trailer located on town square at each show. One of the highlights of Cruise Weekend is 'cruisin the strip'! Thousands of spectators and cruising cars pack "the strip" (US 27) to watch and take part in this time honored tradition. It's six lanes of fun that continues well into the night! The City of Somerset welcomes cruisers with open arms but, please abid by all posted speed limits and ordinances. We want to see you and your hotrod back next month! Cruise weekends offer many free activities for the entire family on both Friday and Saturday. The Friday Night Block Party presented by Walmart and hosted at The Center on south US 27 (the strip) features live music, kids rides and games, great food along with hundreds of great showcars & trucks! We promise you, Somernites is an event unlike any other!
